Summary
Inspired by grunge music in the remote foothills of the Olympic Mountains with 75% annual rainfall, and Rebus riddles, concepts in Bethany’s acrylic painting explore every-day ironies and hyperbole. This is reflected in her undergraduate studies in Anthropology, folkloristics and studio art.
Although her professional life took her into the field of UX Research for over a decade, she joined Arts on the Greenway to reconnect with her studio art discipline, and through her process discovered a body of work that finally has something to say.
Her point of view is reflected in the more active role she has played in the organization, recalling a seminal desire that inspired her to pursue an education that might someday lead to her to create an after school art program for youth at a nonprofit like Arts on the Greenway.
