Summary

The basis of Corrine Kay’s comedic character fuels her Maker/Creator persona.

Corrine is passionate about art and laughter without taking herself too seriously. Fiber art, surface design, wearables and whimsical furniture are among her artistic endeavors. Depending on her mood, renderings in gouache, pen and ink abstracts or landscapes in fanciful palettes also culminate her expansive portfolio of works.

Corrine grew up around objects d’art and fine antiques, whose parents were dealers and operated an auction gallery in her native Western New York.

Being heavily influenced by color, pattern, and texture, these factors impact the results of her pieces, whether they are a table, a kimono, or a woodcut print. What is most exciting to Corrine while producing art is the ability to keep changing her mind and not know exactly what the finished creation will look like.

There is an exhilarating feeling about the unpredictability of Life and Art, and to Corrine Kay that is some kind of wonderful.
