Summary
Focusing primarily on narrative and fantasy art, Rachel uses strong colors and sharp tonal contrasts to build her work. Pastel, acrylic, watercolors, and inks all find their way into her work, as she chooses the medium that best serves the story. She creates for the viewer images of Poe in black and white charcoal, historical figures and fairy-tale heroes in rich acrylic jewel tones, and soft pastel landscapes where hidden magic grows.
With a BFA in Illustration, Rachel illustrates fantasy and children’s books, creates large scale murals that bring magic to homes and offices, paints custom human and animal portraits, and shares her fantasies on paper and home decor with patrons at Renaissance festivals in the eastern US.
